LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We at TwirlYYC, Southside Twirlers and Newheights Twirlers would like to take this time, In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, allyship and truth, to honour and acknowledge Moh’kinsstis, Wichispa Oyade and the traditional Treaty 7 territory. The Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.

We give thanks and show gratitude to the land shepard's of Treaty 7, for their care and sacrifice passed down through the generations as the care takers and first peoples of this beautiful land. For that, we pay our respects to All people's of Treaty 7 lands and are grateful for the opportunity to share our passions and create a safe space for the youth of Moh'kinsstis (Calgary, Ab) on this land we call our home✨
